JOBS OVERSEAS Jobs Overseas
If you are considering working abroad you may wish to consider a few points:
- Contract of Employment
- Accommodation
- Healthcare
- Transport
Contract of Employment
Before accepting overseas jobs ensure that your terms of employment are agreed in writing emphasizing the following:
- Job Description
- Hours of work
- Bonus entitlement
- Overtime
Accommodation
Many overseas jobs come with accommodation. Check exactly what kind of accommodation is being offered and make sure it's suitable, depending on whether you are single, married or have a family. Also check whether your furniture and appliances are provided.
If accommodation is not provided you will need to decide whether to buy or rent and make appointments to view properties either before you move or from a hotel base once you have moved.
Remember, working abroad may not be a positive experience if you have not managed to find good accommodation in a good area, especially if your overseas jobs include your family.
Healthcare
Check if your employer includes a healthcare package for you and your family within your contract of employment. If not you will need to make arrangements for medical insurance whilst working abroad.
Transport
Check if any transport is provided with any overseas jobs and if you are entitled to any travel allowance. Make sure you have sufficient insurance and the necessary driving license for the country you are working in.
